There are 4 models of NUVE NX1 Bike Covers that fit different handlebars.

NX1 D - This has Drop handlebars and fits road, race and gravel bikes up to 180cm in length. To check if it fits your bike, measure from the outer part of the rear wheel to the outer part of the front wheel.

The handlebar width for road and gravel bikes is quite standard and the cover is made with elastic which will allow stretch for larger than usual handlebars.

NX1 F - This has Flat handlebars and fits urban, city, fixied gear, single-speeds, road bikes and other types of bikes with flat handlebars. We’ve created a snug fit up to 45cm, measuring the width from the outer parts of the handlebars. This model fits bikes up to 1.8m in length.

To check if the cover fits your bike length, measure from the outer part of the rear wheel to the outer part of the front wheel. The cover is made with elastic which will allow stretch. 

NX1 FW - This has Flat handlebars and fits urban, city, road bikes and other types of bikes with flat handlebars. There are varying sizes of flat handlebar in the market so we’ve created a wider fit for wider width handlebars of 70cm measuring the width from the outer parts of the handlebars. This model fits bikes up to 1.8m in length.

To check if it fits your bike length, measure from the outer part of the rear wheel to the outer part of the front wheel. The cover is made with elastic which will allow stretch for larger items. 

NX1 B - This has Bull/Bullhorn handlebars and fits urban, road bikes and other types of bikes with a bull handlebar. This model fits bikes up to 1.8m in length.

To check if it fits your bike length, measure from the outer part of the rear wheel to the outer part of the front wheel. The cover is made with elastic which will allow stretch.

The cover also fits your bike if you have bike mudguards, panniers or racks attached to the front or rear wheels, but they may prevent a comfortable fit.

The NX2 indoor cover will fit most adult bike that are within 150 cm - 195 cm in length including tyres. To check if it fits your bike length, measure from the most outer part of the rear wheel to the most outer part of the front wheel. Please note that manufacturers measurements do not always include tire measurements so it's best to check with a tape measure.

The cover is made with elastic which will allow stretch. 

The NX3 has Drop handlebars and fits road, race and gravel bikes up to 180cm in length. To check if it fits your bike, measure from the outer part of the rear wheel to the outer part of the front wheel.

If you have bike mudguards, panniers or racks attached to the front or rear wheels, they may prevent a comfortable fit.

The covers are tailored for naked bikes but as they are made with stretch fabric, they can fit over mudguards and rear pannier racks, the only difference will be the look as it will follow the shape of the pannier rack.

The NX1 & NX3 are designed and engineered to be put on as easily as possible. It’s installed from the top which reduces friction with the bike components like the gears, brakes and chain. Here’s a quick 3 step guide and you can watch the installation video.

1. Start by placing the cover over the top of the bike and pull tight around the handlebars
2. Pull the cover over the saddle where it will hold in place under the seat.
3. You can then zip the cover in place around the rear and then the front wheel.

The NX2 indoor bike cover is designed and engineered to stretch around the bike wheels as tight as possible. It’s installed by first putting it around the front wheel, pulling and stretching the cover underneath the bike and around the rear wheel to capture any dirt from the bike in the cover.

On the NX1, there are 6 waterproof zip openings (3 on each side) for flexibility when locking your bicycle and allowing you to secure your bike in almost all situations. The central openings follow the line of the seat post so you can lock your rear wheel and frame to an anchor point - a railing, rack, a lamppost - wherever you want. The smaller openings are aligned to the front and rear wheels on both sides so you can lock your wheels to hoops and smaller racks, you can use them for floor, wall and ceiling racks to hang the bike at home or for extra security outdoors. Once you lock your bicycle with the cover on, through the lock holes/openings, the cover cannot be removed and is locked to the bicycle. This gives extra protection against thieves who won't be able to see your bicycle in the street.

We’ve coated the NX1 and NX3 in a strong durable water repellent. The rain will literally bounce off the cover and create water beads that slide off. However, it's not waterproof, so if it’s caught in a heavy rain storm, at some point the repellent will not be enough and the water will pass. Finding the right balance of breathability and water resistance was a key part of our decision making when we designed both the NX1 and NX3. You can read about that more in our journal here: 

Ultimately if you’re like us Brits and you often have light-moderate rain showers, the cover will be strong enough to protect against the rain. But if you’re storing your bicycle outside permanently in heavy storms, then we wouldn’t recommend the NX1 or NX3.

The fabric and the engineering. We have scanned and researched the market to find the best technical fabric available in the world that has the right blend of materials for protecting and extending the life of the bicycle. We have tested our fabric in internationally renowned labs for strength and resistance to the elements. It is made with dense fibres that prevent rips and tears.

The NX1 and NX3 can withstand UV rays with protection of 50+ UPF so it wont go brittle with the sun.

Yes both the NX1 & NX3 bike cover will help reduce rust. There are many factors in play when it comes to rust - weather, damp conditions and where and how you store the bike. The NX1 & NX3 will drastically reduce the chance of rust on your bike in nearly all of these situations.

The NX1 & NX3 are made from breathable material so no condensation will build up inside the cover, ideal for long storage periods. It is also coated with a strong water repellent free of toxic chemicals which will keep out the rain. If you use the NX1 or NX3 for storage in a garage, it will reduce the damp and mould build up on the bike and its components. So using a NX1 or NX3 cover will definitely extend the life of your bicycle.

Our NX1 cover is ultra lightweight and is 620g, you will be able to commute with it or carry it with you in your rides comfortably in a small bag wherever you go.

Our NX2 cover is ultra lightweight and is 440g, you will be able to commute with it or carry it with you on your travels wherever you go so that you can take your bike inside (like hotels, rented apartments or a friend’s house) and protect the floors and surroundings.

Our NX3 cover is ultra lightweight and is 550g.

When we set out to make our bicycle covers, we knew we would only do it if they were sustainably made. Using non recycled materials and polluting substances for such a big material product was not an option. There’s always more we can do but here are a few things to call out.

We use materials made from recycled plastic bottles in all our covers. For the outdoor cover collection, we use strong DWR’s free from fluorocarbons. Fluorocarbons are toxic “forever chemicals” that pollute water supplies and never break down. We use non-toxic alternatives that work just as well.

We use precision technology to reduce waste. We have a 15km radius in our production chain to maintain very low carbon emissions and we’ve won prestigious design and innovation awards that include sustainability practice in their criteria.

Our covers should require minimal maintenance. We would recommend brushing and spot cleaning regularly to keep it in good shape.
